Co-op Adult Day Community
TraiNING SCHEDULE

A key element of the Co-op Adult Day Community is providing you, the caregiver with support, education and training designed to assist and improve your day-to-day caregiving experience. Caregivers carry out many important responsibilities such as personal care, transportation, and homemaking, etc. Developing communication skills, furthering the understanding of dementia, and increasing one’s self-awareness, etc. can help mitigate many of the negative outcomes associated with caregiving, including psychological and adverse physical health effects.  In addition to identifying stressors and negative outcomes of caregiving, it is important to recognize the positive aspects such, as an increased sense of meaning and self-worth, closer family ties, and enhanced self-efficacy in caregiving tasks.

Recognizing that not all caregivers may be at the co-op facility at the same time to partake in the support trainings together, each module is offered bi-weekly bot on-site and virtually affording caregivers to avail themselves to the format that works best with their schedule.
